Story

The term "chai" means "tea" in Hindi, from "cha", the Chinese word for tea. It has become synonymous of "Indian spiced tea" flavoured with a blend of spices (masala) for a type of black tea brewed over the stove with milk and water, and sweetened with plenty of sugar. Known as masala chai, it is commonly referred to as "chai", India's most popular drink. Each Indian family has its own recipe and the Indian diaspora created its own version with local spices in their new country as they moved further west.

With the rise of coffee shop chains in the U.S., then worldwide, "chai tea" got revisited with steamed milk, thus renamed "chai latte" as a hot and cold refreshment, to also give it a more refined, Italian barrista flair. Gaining a global popularity due to its invigorating and digestive properties, it evolved from a fleeting fad to a staple in all coffee shops and tea houses.

Our love for chai tea follows no trend and is simply linked to the rich cultural heritage of the Indian diaspora in Madagascar. So, this Indo-Persian-Malagasy inspired spicy floral chai tea refers to my passion for chai tea since my childhood and named after my first name's spelling in Persian.

Our signature chai tea is made with an in-house blend of premium niche black tea from Lahijan, Iran's tea producing region in close proximity to the Caspian Sea, with a smooth and honey-like taste. The inclusion of Assam, Ceylon, Kenya, and Malawi black tea creates a harmonious combination that imparts a full-bodied malty character, intensifying the tea's richness and complexity.

We've scented it with traditional Indian chai masala spices (cardamom, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg), infusing our exclusive style with Madagascar Bourbon vanilla beans, Persian barberries, pistachios, and bitter orange peel. Topped with fragrant Mohammadi rose petals from Kashan, the Persian city of roses, Jamaican pepper, and hints of juniper berries for the northern feel. It's unlike any other chai you've ever tried before and will soon become your drink of choice if you enjoy bold spicy tea like I do.
