"Rooibos" is technically not a tea. It's an Afrikaan word designating an endemic tree that grows only in the Cederberg, a small mountainous area in the Western Cape province of South Africa. Its leaves are used for thousands of years by the San hunter-gatherers ("Bushmen") and Khoisan pastoralist people as a tea and for medicinal properties. Commercialized in the 1920s by Benjamin Ginsberg, a businessman who pioneered its cultivation for the first time, rooibos has become a global phenomenon since the 90s.

We created a refined bright vanilla brew with a Superior grade rooibos. We gently infused it with Grade A Bourbon vanilla beans and in-house Bourbon vanilla extract with the same bean premium category from the Sava Region, the Vanilla Triangle in Northern Madagascar. We added a touch of natural vanillin extracted from cloves for its creamy spicy profile and dollops of orange citrus oil to make this rooibos' intrinsic tangy citrusy profile shine.

This careful process allowed to enhance its gorgeous natural aromatic identity and provide a truly exceptional taste. Try it to feel the explosion of citrusy notes and candied fig and red cherry liquor on a base of caramelic malty nuttiness. It will make your day! Or evening. It's also excellent for digestion and relaxation.

Essential oil accord: Madagascar Bourbon vanilla beans and powder (Grade A), in-house Bourbon vanilla bean extract (Grade A) produced in Toronto, natural biovanillin, natural vanillin ex-clove, Italian orange 5-fold essential oil.
Botanical inclusions: Madagascar Bourbon vanilla beans pieces. 

Vegan, no artificial flavours or preservatives.

Steeping: Add 0.5 teaspoon of tea per cup in filtered boiled water (212°F) and steep for 8 minutes. Strain with a very fine mesh strainer to avoid debris or a tea filter bag and enjoy!

How-to: Rooibos offers remarkable versatility, allowing for numerous enjoyable experiences. Prepare it traditionally as a tisane in the pure South African way with lemon, sugar or honey, or serve as a chai, a latte, or even a cappuccino. You can also ice it as is, add citrus slices or herbs and edible flowers. Sweeten with our scented sugar to bring a secondary aromatic profile or enjoy your rooibos lattes with any of our confetteas. Lastly, you can also add it to any of your baking recipes and sauces for a caramelic vanilla touch.

Rooibos matches perfectly with fruits, from citrus, berries, stone fruits to exotic. It also goes well with sweets and desserts or heavy dishes, and of course, breakfast meals
